rain or shine

ain’t no shine happening here...whether coming from cars which normally gleam or from the grins of all the onlookers...expectations were high from the get go...lots of polish and tire dressing went into these rides...however, a good slick coat of water repellant on the windows was necessary for those w/o wipers.

volks fest minus mom

the yo' mamas volks fest was sadly missed this year. we decided it's such a low key event where anyone can attend, we'll even feed the local vw owner, to just have it, even though there were only a few moms in attendance (my mom swears i didn't tell her about it). we caught up by having a fun filled family potluck and a little downpour doesn't hurt anyone especially those with overhangs (i mean hangovers) or buses to hide in.

thank you to the folsom nike store for being so cool when we backed into their loading area with our first load of stinky old sneakers.

sac was down right comfortable this time round. there didn't seem to be any real reason to rush away on sunday. we strolled in saturday afternoon to a huge swap...3 rows all the way to the return road...only to follow on sunday with a full 5? they raised the price to get in and i'm pretty sure that didn't stop anyone from hanging out the day before the event.

the slogoin' vws bike club strikes again...it seems only natural to tote your bike on or in your vw to ride it right...both groups really seem to mesh well. plus, if your vw breaks down, you'll have something to get you to the gas station.

a big deal

i'm really behind posting event pics of the past couple of months...sorry.

this was an overhead pic of the niello ranch run...which is becoming quite the show. i don't know the number, i'm sure you could find it somewhere if you really needed to know but...i can tell you it was huge. the caravan to the ranch was totally out of hand as far as vws on the freeway. tell that guy in the squareback to get his brakes done, scary hauling ass behind someone that doesn't have brakes when it comes to a bottleneck on the off ramp. if you haven't been there yet, plan it next spring!
